New students

How do I sign up?

Click HERE and you will be taken to the sign up window. New students can sign up for 1 month unlimited classes for $49. Includes in person and online classes.

What if I have never practiced yoga before?

No problem at all! Our instructors provide guided directions throughout class so you will know where you are going as well as multiple modifications for postures. We recommend attending: Hatha Yoga, Restore, Gentle, Meditation and Slow Vinyasa. Blend and Vinyasa are more advanced and some sections of class are not guided.

Can I come if I have an injury?

YES! Almost everyone has been injured before and in most cases, yoga can be very beneficial to help healing certain injuries. If you are concerned about your limitations please email us at info@zionwell.com and we can discuss if it will be safe for you to come to a community class or private session.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring comfortable clothes and a yoga mat (you can borrow one if needed). We provide props such as blocks, straps and cushions for meditation. We recommend practicing barefoot.

Will I feel out of place not knowing anyone?

No! All instructors are very welcoming and warm. You will feel like family in our space.

Is there a minimum age requirement to practice?

The minimum age required for community classes is 16. Youth ages 16-18 must be signed up by parent or guardian but may attend community classes solo. For members younger than 16 you may book a private session with one of our instructors or come to a teen workshop that is hosted occasionally.

In studio

How early should I arrive to class?

Please arrive 5 - 10 minutes early, the studio door open 15 minutes prior to the start of class. Doors lock right at start of class so you will not be able to enter if you are late. Leaving early is  discouraged but if you must leave please inform the instructor. If you are early please do not knock as another class could be in session.

Is there parking?

Yes, there is ample parking at both the Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor studio out front. We recommend locking doors to keep items in your vehicle safe.

Do you allow me to keep my cellphone in the yoga studio?

Please turn your sound off and keep all devices in the cubby area.

Do I have to check in prior to class?

Yes please check in on the MINDBODY app or login online, if you have questions please email us at info@zionwell.com. Classes fill up so you want to make sure you have claimed your spot!

What if the door is locked?

Doors are locked during class so please wait outside if another class is in session. Doors are also locked when the studio is closed and does not have classes in session.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring comfortable clothes and a yoga mat (you can rent one if needed). We provide props such as blocks, straps, blankets and cushions for meditation. We recommend practicing barefoot.

Is the studio heated?

Yes, the studio is kept warm but not considered “hot”. The temp ranges between 75-80 degrees. For reference “hot yoga” is kept around 90-100 degrees.

Will an instructor give me hands on adjustments?

Our instructors are experienced in providing both verbal and hands on adjustments in yoga poses. Some instructors choose to use YES/NO cards as a way to allow you to provide consent for adjustments. If they do not use YES/NO cards they will ask you before providing adjustments. “Do you mind if I give you an adjustment?” If you DO NOT want to be touched/adjusted please let them know and they will provide more verbal cues. You may also share your preference with the instructor at the beginning of the class so they are clear. Hands on adjustments are provided to support safety and alignment.

Online classes

How does it work?

When you sign up for a LIVE online class you will be sent a zoom link 60 minutes prior to class. You will need the zoom app on whatever device you choose to stream from.

Do you have classes I can watch whenever I want?

Yes Zion Video is our online library which houses 250+ videos that can be watched anywhere, anytime. Once you sign up for $20 a month, you will receive a login to your Zion Video account.

Do I need to turn my video and audio on during class?

No, if you do not feel comfortable you can keep your video off. We do prefer to see you so that we can help with alignment cues. During class your audio will be muted so that there is no feedback during the class.

What if I did not get my zoom link?

Email info@zionwell.com or text 734-404-8899 to let us know prior to class!
