Class Types

Gentle, Slow Paced, and Restorative

Restore

Passive postures in this class are typically held for 3-6 minutes. Expect supportive postures with a variety of props, blocks, bolsters, cushions, blankets. This class incorporates elements of breathwork and meditation. This class is a blend of Yin and restorative yoga meaning you will feel supported as well as deep tissue release.

Gentle Yoga

Gentle Yoga is a great guided class for beginners. There are a combination of standing postures, seated postures and balancing postures. The class is slower paced with guidance throughout. You may use a number of different props to support and modify postures. This is a great class to learn names of poses and get comfortable in your yoga practice.

Meditation

Guided meditation classes at Zion Well may be seated or lying down. 

Types of meditation may include: mantra meditation, breathwork, mindfulness, visualization, empowerment, loving kindness, sound healing and more.

Expect to be guided into a relaxed state.

Yin Yoga

Yin yoga is a practice that targets the deeper connective tissues of the body, such as ligaments, fascia, and joints. Poses are held for an extended period, typically ranging from 3 to 5 minutes or more, allowing for a release. This extended duration encourages practitioners to explore sensations, cultivate mindfulness, and develop patience.

Active, Guided and Fluid

Hatha

In this class you will learn about breath, posture alignment, mobility and more.  This is perfect for a new and seasoned practitioners. Expect to hold postures for 5 - 7 breaths to slow the body down and connect with the breath, and subtle body. Combines traditional standing, balancing, stabilizing, and grounding postures.

Slow Vinyasa

Slow Vinyasa is a guided experience that works at aligning breath to movement. The class moves slow and intentionally in the beginning and works up to flowing 1 breath per movement. This class is perfect for anyone looking to meet their edge while cultivating a peaceful presence. This class is guided but may have some self-guided movement.

Yinyasa

This class is a combination of passive & active. This class is geared towards awakening the subtle body by starting with yin poses. In the beginning, postures will be held for 2-5 minutes to provide rest and support to the nervous system. The second half of class will pick up to reflect a slow vinyasa pace with a creative sequence.

Yoga at the Wall +

Using the wall as a tool for balance, support, and alignment, you'll explore active poses that challenge your strength and deepen your stretches. Ideal for all levels, this class helps you build confidence in your practice while experiencing the unique benefits of working with the wall. Active with a restorative ending.

Energizing, Empowering and Challenging

Blend

This class is a fun combination of holding postures and linking movement to breath. You will see elements of Vinyasa and Hatha traditions. Class is guided but incorporates moments of self-guided movement. There will be times where you are moving slowly as well as fast invigorating sequences. You will see challenging postures but all of our teachers are supportive and encourage you throughout your experience on the mat.

Slow Burn

In this class you will gain greater awareness and access to your practice by slowing down. Slow Burn incorporates guided movement that get you deeper into your muscular system. Expect guided movement that is both stabilizing and challenging. This class is an alignment based practice that brings you to your edge of discomfort while providing you with support.

Vinyasa

Vinyasa classes emphasis the connection between breath and movement. Sequencing may be fast paced and creative with moments of challenge. Most movement is guided but there will be some moments of freedom. This class gives students the empowerment to make their own decisions based on the needs of their body. Class is challenging but rewarding. Rest and modifications are always welcome.

Yoga Sculpt

***NEW Tuesday + Thursday at 6:30 pm

This class incorporates small 3 lb weights and resistance bands with strength based yoga postures. Sequencing may be fast paced with high repetition of movement to help challenge the muscles. This class will have have high energy, fun upbeat music and playful movements to challenge you! As always rest and modifications are always welcome.

Specialized Fusion Classes

Mindful Movement

Begin your day with Mindful Movement—an all-levels class blending gentle, intentional movements, breathwork, and grounding practices. This class will energize your body, calm your mind, and cultivate presence. Perfect for starting the day with clarity and ease. This class is guided and props may be used.

Core + Vinyasa

This class begins with a powerful 10-15 minute core section to help strengthen and stabilize before working up to a fun creative vinyasa sequence. While this class may incorporate intermediate poses, the class is guided and teachers will provide modifications and use props to support.

Expect to strengthen, stabilize and flow.

Release + Breathe

This class will incorporate deep tissue release using a combination of self massage and other props such as yoga blocks, strap and tune-up ball. It will end with guided breathwork to help fully integrate diaphragm and nervous system release. 

This class has elements of active release + restorative holds.
